We all rely on the Royal Mail. The Royal Mail relies on Gatic.
Between 2010 and 2011, Royal Mail group delivered around 62 million items to almost 29 million homes and businesses every working day. They collected mail from 115,271 post boxes, 11,800 post offices and more than 80,000 businesses.*
Reliable Christmas DeliveriesOver the Christmas season, delivery figures start bulging like Santa’s sack: around 40 million online shoppers eager to get their items delivered on time and an estimated 700 million physical Christmas Cards to arrive safely at their destination. During Christmas in 2011, 1.4 billion UK inland items were handled, including 86 million parcels.
That’s a lot of sorting, and a lot of vans and trucks driving in and out of sorting depots.
Outstanding, First Class Service
In their latest customer satisfaction report, Royal Mail achieved over 90% Quality of Service scores for both 1st and 2nd class services. So, it’s no surprise that Royal Mail value outstanding delivery on promises from their own suppliers too. When they needed surface water drainage for their depots, they called Gatic.
Slotdrain for Warehouses and Depots
In 2006, Royal Mail specified Gatic’s UltraSlot slot drainage for the development of their sorting depot in Fareham. Since then, they’ve come to rely on us for developments across the country, from Thurrock to Sheffield, from Warrington to Hemel Hempstead.

Gatic Shortlisted for the Construction Marketing Awards, 2012
Gatic are pleased to be included in the shortlist for this year’s Construction Marketing Awards, among some other top names in the business, in the Strategic Planning and Management category.
It’s always good to have your work acknowledged, and Gatic, together with our agency The Charlotte Street Agency, are very happy to be recognised for our combined strategic efforts in growing our Slotdrain and Access Covers business, even in these trying economic times.
At the same time we have been hard at work on the launch of new products including StreetWise, our innovative new street furniture offering, and ProSlot, a pre-fabricated surface water drainage product designed for small projects that can be purchased easily either online or directly through merchants.
A tough climate calls for a confident, yet careful, approach to planning for growth. Our branding and communications strategy has been at the heart of our thinking and our actions this year, and it has made all the difference. With demand for Slotdrain, especially for smaller projects, on the increase - we are very pleased that more and more specifiers are now benefiting from some of the most durable and sophisticated surface water drainage products available on the market today. For us, that’s news worth shouting about, even if we don’t scoop the award.

Gatic's new 1500 Span cover.
Just like our other duct covers, only wider.
25% wider than our other single span duct covers
We work tirelessly at Gatic to develop the engineering and design of our products to meet the needs of our end users in the industry. Understanding that for some projects a wider single span duct cover is called for, we set about engineering a new cover that spanned a 25% greater width than any of our other covers, without the need for intermediate support beams.
As often happens when you design products specifically according to customer needs - we barely had time to launch our new 1500 Span Cover before we found ourselves supplying it to projects in Hong Kong and Australia, and this project in the UK for a major supermarket distribution centre.
As you can see in this UK project case study, the covers are recessed to match the surrounding concrete pavements.
They provide non-rocking, uninterrupted access to a service trench across the distribution centre yard, withstanding regular movements by fully loaded vehicles.
